One day trip from Genova

Nervi 

Nervi is one of very nice seaside towns in Genova, it takes 15 min by train from "Genova Brignole" staton.




When you arrive at the small station "Nervi", you can see the nice ocean view. Also there is a nice park and some museums too.



Parchi di Nervi (Nervi Park)

It is a very beautiful park. From train station you can walk directly, people enjoy picnics, sports or just lay down.



Galleria D'Arte Moderna (Modern Art Museum)

It's modern art museums. When we went there, we didn't see other people there. However collections are wonderful!







Frugone Collection

The collection includes the collections that have been donated by the brothers Luigi and Lazarus Gio Batta Frugone in 1935, Since 1993 the museum has been based in Nervi.








Nervi has a beautiful boardwalk, about 2 km. it is very beautiful, you can enjoy walking and nice view.





If you're tired or hungry, there are some bars and restaurants along the way so you can drink and eat. Actually we had lunch one restaurant, the name is "Osteria Del Duca". This small casual restaurant is front of the tiny beach. We enjoyed food and wine also beautiful ocean view too!





Of course you can swim and enjoy sunshine. At that time both kids and adults, they enjoyed water.






Arenzano and Finale Ligure

Both beach towns are close to Genova, There is beautiful churches and beaches. And good restaurants too!!!

Cinque Terre

 "Cinque terre" means five lands, it is south of Genova. At first we planed to go there by train but I heard we can go there by boat too.



It was nice and hot day so we enjoyed water travel.



The boat didn't go to Cinque Terre directly, we stopped several small beaches and sometimes we had coffee or snacks at the town.




Cinque Terre is five small fishing village also very popular for tourists, especially summer season. 

We stayed at one hotel at Monterrosso al amare, it was quiet and very calm small hotel.





Cinque Terre is famous for trails too, There are seven trails, However when we visited there, two trails were closed. This is website for trailsπŸ‘‰


Walking trails were fun, We walked famous two.



There is one bar middle of trail, it was amazing view from a small window!








 

The sunset view was beautiful too, 






After trail walking, we had beer and had small dinner,


We returned to Genova by train from Monterrosso al Mare, it took about one hour.


If you don't want to hike, it's ok. There is a train from town to town. it might be easy.

Genova

Genova is located northern Italy an d the capital of northwest Italy's Liguria region . There is a big port and some nice sightseeing places. It takes about two hours from Milan.


Area is 243 km² and population is about 600,000.






There are tons of beautiful churches and cathedral in Italy, also Genova has bunch of churches too. Especially this church, Cattedrale di San Lorenzo (Church of Saint Lawrence) is one big and impressive church at Genova. It places central of the city, There is one interesting museum under the ground. Also if weather is nice, you can climb up to the top floor and see nice view from there.






We climbed up to the top floor at late afternoon,



Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, This area and some buildings are UNESCO World Heritage-listed area. Between 16-17th century, the nobility of Republic Genova started build up this area because they wanted to expand to the North. Genova had some up and down history, at 16th century it was golden era there. Many bankers also they had social connection with Spanish Royal. Some bankers invited important customer or guests in their house and they gave hospitality to them. So the rich bankers or investigator needed nice and beautiful houses and great paintings.

"Palazzo Rosso" and "Palazzo Bianco" are on the street.









Also One royal palace, "Palazzo Reale" is very closed this street. It's very beautiful and gorgeous place. It was built 1655 by Balbi family, now one museum.





"Santi Vittore e Carlo" is very closed to Via Giuseppe Garibaldi. It's very beautiful church.








Piazza De Ferrari is the beautiful and big fountain, it is central Genova.



People enjoy around the water, sit down and chatting or jus have relax time. At night time some color light there.




Christopher Columbus was born in Genova and their old house is there.



This is very old tiny house,




Next house there is St Andrew cloister ruins, 



From there, you can see Porta Soprana, This is beautiful big arch.
