We have visited Pompeii twice. It is a very historical and interesting place.
It was a rainy day,
Bill was enjoying😄
An old bath
This is a fast food place in Pompeii. People can have soup/food.
At AD 79, Mount Vesuvius erupted, Pompeii was close to this mountain
and this town was destroyed by high heat and volcanic ash.
For our second visit, it was a fine day and we also had a good tour guide.
The streets have two layers. When there was heavy rain, People could walk on the upper one.
In the middle of the street, we can see some stones. They look like a "Cross Walk".
This is a bath too. When people used this bath, they could see the beautiful garden below.
There are some beautiful pictures in the bath rooms.
We imagine they enjoyed their bath time very much and the baths are a
very important place for them during that era.
On the street there are some small wells.
"Temple of Apollo" was built in 120 BC.
"Temple of Jupiter" was built in the mid-2nd century BC.
If you have a chance to visit Pompeii, I recommend the tour because it's a very huge place and the guided tour gave us much information. it was fun!
You can see some displays in the museum.
During that era people had big lunch, one big reason is that they can cook in the day time because it's bright and at night time they didn't have any light. So they ate the leftovers at dinner.
Still Italian people have a big lunch and they follow the old style even now!
